Overview
Banana, in its latin name "Musa paradisiaca", is a herb living in tropical countries. It is usually 5-6 meters high. Its fruit is in reality a type of berries, which is eaten all over the world. The fruit of banana is curved. The small banana is facing to the ground, but during its growth it curves to the Sun.
European Union has its quality standard for Banana. In contrast some scandal, this does not mean that bananas can't be curved. Public Relations Office of the European Union says: "The Commission developed quality standards for bananas, and they were accepted in 1994. These are the raise the appreciation of bananas."

Most of the eatable bananas are pipless. A general method to grow small bananas are to cut scions or to the root-stock into pieces.

The biggest banana plantations can be found in Middle and South-America, in the "banana republics", like Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras, Ecuador, Panama, where the main income of the state are made from banana export. Ecuador is the world-leading in banana export. Banana is the 4th most important crop in the world after rice, wheat and corn.
